In order to make sure the ganache is at the right consistency for frosting (and to prevent burning), we recommend the following :

1) In a microwavable bowl, microwave on medium settings for 30-60 seconds

2) Stir well to mix the ganache evenly before microwaving again

3) Continue microwaving in spurts of 10-15 seconds, stirring after each interval

*The continuous stirring ensures that heat is evenly distributed to prevent burning of the chocolate.

If you do not have a microwave:

Place the ganache in a heat proof bowl over a baine Marie (hot water bath). Allow the steam to gently warm the bowl and continuously stirring till it softens.

The ideal consistency for the ganache should be like peanut butter, spreadable and doesn’t split.
