Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
Currently, Naked Cakes only accepts orders from Singapore via internet or ATM transfer. We do not accept cash on delivery or credit cards. Please email us for further clarifications.
Q: What ingredients do you use for your cakes?
Our ingredients come from all over the world, flown in fresh. We dislike using preservatives or artificial flavourings, so all ingredients are prepared to order. We source the following ingredients from these countries:
– Butter from France and Denmark
– Chocolate from Germany and Italy
– Cream from England
– Fresh Fruits and Vegetables from Local Sources
Our Red Velvet and Rainbow Cakes also have a touch of food colouring, but all other colours are absolutely natural.
We use 100% Halal-certified ingredients in all our products. While we do not have the Halal certification ourselves, due to a wide and ever-changing range of products, we assure you that nothing that goes into our products come from a non-Halal source.
A lot of our close and personal Muslim friends frequently enjoy our products, so rest assured they’re all Halal-friendly.
Q: I have a dietary restriction/allergy. What should I know?
We offer ‘eggless’ varieties of our vanilla cake, rainbow cake, and vanilla cupcake. We do not use any eggs, butter or milk in these. However, vegetable oil and milk by-products are used.
Our orange almond cakes and cupcakes are also gluten and dairy-free. We replace flour with almond meal, and leave out the milk.
The machines that process our ingredients are also used to process nuts, and so, we cannot guarantee that our cakes are nut-free. However, only the orange almond and carrot cakes have any added nuts for flavour.
*Update as at 1st Jan 2018- To make it all easier, we have listed the common allergen ingredient under each product description. Please feel free to check with us before making an order if you are unsure.
Q: What is the shelf life of your products?
Since we don’t use preservatives, we recommend consuming your cakes or cupcakes within 7 days of purchase if stored in cold refrigeration (0 to 4 degrees Celsius). If you must keep it for longer, pack it in deep freeze (-4 degrees Celsius and below) and it will last up to 30 days. But of course, the fresher the better.
Our cookie dough keeps for up to one month in the freezer, and up to one week in the fridge, but they’re best enjoyed right out of the oven.
Q: I’m a beginner, and I know nothing about the art of making cakes. Where do I even begin?
It’s actually not that hard to put a cake together, once you know how! That’s why we wrote a handy GUIDE just for you. It comes with all the information you need, so if you’re new to the concept, be sure to give it a look.
Q: I don’t know how to layer and frost a cake. Can you do it for me?
Absolutely. We provide this service for you. Just add the item ‘CAKE SERVICE’ to your cart. That’ll let us know that we should go ahead and frost the cake for you. Currently, we only work with ganache for this service. If you need help deciding what you want, check out our GUIDE page, and get more information on our CAKE SERVICE catalogue page for clear instructions on how to order.
Q: I am a baker, and I have always been baking my own cakes from scratch. What is my incentive to order from Naked Cakes?
Naked Cakes isn’t here to take away the joy of baking. If you enjoy baking on your own, go right ahead. We’re bakers too, and we know the pride and fun of developing your own cakes from scratch.
But we know how tiring the baking process can be, and we also know the difficulty in making allergen-sensitive cakes, or having to make many different varieties of cake at the same time. So what we want to do is help take that trouble off your hands.
For the professional, what Naked Cakes seeks to do is offer assistance, not replacement. We want to expand your current range of cakes, so you have more to offer! Think of us as your happy little cake helpers. We save you immense time and costs by baking your bases, no matter the batch size, at our facilities, which leaves you with more time to work on decoration or presentation.
For larger batches, we can save you up to 10 – 12 hours a day on average per batch, and that’s just for the baking alone!
Q: I require a specific cake base flavour for my personal business, but I do not see this flavour being sold in your store. Will you be able to accommodate special requests?
It depends on the specific order. Unfortunately, we don’t do this too often, but we might be able to accommodate depending on the volume and other details. Just get in contact, and we’ll see what we can do.
No. Naked Cakes sells cake bases for our customers to decorate themselves. However, if you need decorating services, we are pleased to say we do have a list of bakers* that we can recommend to you. Simply drop us a message at cakes@nakedcakes.sg with your date of celebration, cake theme/design (pictures would be best) and budget (if any) for us to help you.
We also sell plastic cake toppers that we can source for you separately. These include character icons or things of other specific themes. Please get into contact with us for more details.
*Do note that these bakers operate independently from us and we are simply referring out of goodwill. We do not have any contractual agreement and thus not liable for their services
